Legbiter

Background
Strangford Lough Brewing Company is set in an area of natural beauty and wildlife with a historical tradition going back 8000 years. The company has a range of beers associated with County Down characters such Magnus Barelegs the Viking King buried in Downpatrick less than two miles from Saint Patrick, another of the company's brands.
On the day of his death King Magnus is described as "regaled with a helmet on his head, a red shield in which was a gilded Lion and girt with the sword Legbiter". Legbiter's hilt was tooth (ivory) and the hand grip wound about with gold thread and the sword was extremely sharp!

Head Brewer's Tasting Notes
A golden ale with fresh fruit and malt fragrance. Full drinking with a subtle hoppy finish. Refreshing for a beer of this strength.

Legbiter Reviews

Beer Advocate, beeradvocate.com

Pours with a cloudy light amber, golden body, hazy body with a fairly foamy head, slight retention.
Smell, aromas of lavender, nice hop bitterness.
Taste, dry and full of hops, might be goldings that are coming through, slight malt profile in the background, slight hop oil finish.
A good hoppy ale, full of hoppy flavour, I'm in two minds though about whether its English or American as far as style goes, almost somewhere in between, give it a try, its a raw little brew.

Rate Beer , ratebeer.com

Golden with a thick off-white head. Aromas are floral hops with some metallic elements and citrus. Flavours are fresh, floral with citrus bite. Quite delicate but drinkable. The finish is bitter, long and dry. A pretty decent bottled beer.
